What is the year of the internship? 
(1) Definitions:
1) Internship Period: It is a compulsory training period for a period of 12 calendar months of compulsory actual clinical training that begins after successfully passing all the subjects of the college's study plan. The internship period is an important and complementary part of the study of medicine and the student is not considered eligible to practice medicine until after the successful completion of this period and is an integral part of the program to obtain a bachelor of medicine and surgery. 
2) Faculty: College of Medicine at Najran University. 
3) Dean: Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Najran University.
4) Supervisor: Faculty member supervisor of the internship unit.
5) Internship: The student who has successfully completed all the courses of the study plan at the Faculty of Medicine at Najran University and joined the internship period.
6) Internship Unit: It is the unit organizing the affairs of excellence in the college and is formed based on a decision from the dean of the college.
7) Hospital / Training Center: One of the university or government hospitals accredited for training and directed to the intern doctor by the college based on what is raised by the internship unit and graduates for training in it.
8) Warning: The notice given to the intern doctor due to his absence or due to a violation of the training rules and regulations of the college or hospital/training center during the training process during the internship period. 
(2) Objectives and expected results at the end of the internship year: 
(1) Developing the skills of the intern in the field of patient history taking and examining patients in different departments.
 (2) Developing the skills of the intern doctor in the field of requesting and evaluating the results of medical examinations necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. 
(3) Developing the skills of the intern doctor in the field of writing the necessary prescriptions for patients.
(4) Developing the skills of the intern doctor in treating emergency cases and how to deal with them.
(5) Developing the skills of the intern doctor in the field of referring patients when the patient needs to be referred to other specialties.
(6) Urging the intern physician to have high professional ethics while carrying out work tasks with patients as well as with members of the medical team.
(7) Developing teamwork and respecting all contributing health specialties. 
(8) Developing the ability to communicate and professional development through continuing medical education for male and female doctors and participation in work within medical staff.
(9) Deepening the internship's level of understanding of the general health and systemic diseases of patients and applying the rules to prevent the spread of infection.
(10) Activating the therapeutic and preventive role in the departments and the understanding of the intern doctor in addition to the awareness and educational role of the members of the community.
(11) Developing the research aspect of the intern doctor by reviewing the cases he sees during the training work. 
(12) Attention to the requirements of the labour market. 
(13) Giving each intern an opportunity to explore and distinguish his/her interested department in medicine and to equip him with sufficient information related to different career options.
